Had Jade Fever for a while after I found a large piece behind my house last year.. Actually found a good size piece yesterday at work,, about 80 lbs or so..

I'm on the NE Olypen,, so the chunks must have floated over on the glaciers from the North Cascades...

Have found both small rolled pieces and large chunks broken out of the vein...

Whidbey beaches are loaded with the stuff. Found some nice specimens out there while fishing. Do you hunt agate at all rich? Ive had that fever the last few years.

Yes I look for Agates,,, found one at work about the size of a chicken egg last week,,, crystal clear.. it was in a nice one.. Found it in a load of Pitrun Gravel...

I found a rootbeer colored one about the size of a softball last summer digging out a house hole...

I think the rootbeer one is an agate but might yet be unidentified... its translucent but also scaly and kinda waxy,, very smooth...

I have also found a bunch of metal bearing rocks I am interested in and some artifacts such as scrappers,, fishing weights and a splitting wedge

Found the artifacts in the outlet of a swamp,, in a creek bed...

That's pretty neat rich. I got some pretty nice specimen carneilian agates. Nice blood-red banded pieces. If your rootbeer one is transparent and wax like, its most likely an agate. Jasper will be waxy too, it just doesn't pass light through it.

I had Jade fever once years ago. She was slightly larger than the Jade you found at about 5’4 and 115 pounds but still slender and petite. Found her at UW years ago. She “rocked” my world for a few weeks before I realized she was bad news and moved on.
